Hello Everyone! After four glorious years at West Islip High School, during which time I really enjoyed my classmates, I attended Colgate University in upstate New York. I majored in Biology and English. I spend four years playing volleyball and traveling around the state. I lived for several years at “Peace House” aka Ralph Bunche House. It sat on fraternity row and was one of the few integrated (guys and girls) houses.

After college, I worked for several years at an environmental protection organization in Southampton Town called the Group for the South Fork and took part in many projects to protect the environment including protecting local farmland, beaches, and the Pine Barrens.

In the mid-eighties, I went out to Oregon to study law at the University of Oregon’s School of Law. They had a terrific program in Natural Resources and Ocean and Coastal Law. The west coast was incredible! Really beautiful. I loved the beaches that went on forever and the raging rivers upon which you could raft.

Then, I returned to the Hamptons to become the in-house counsel with the Group for the South Fork for ten years and engaged in a lot of activism.

Between 2000 and 2004, I became Southampton’s Councilwoman-that was quite an eye-opening experience. I helped to pass some coastal legislation to protect the beaches out here.

Now, I have my own law practice where I focus on environmental law and mediation.
